Yup. It is that taboo word, especially if you are a member of the clergy! Religion teaches you to ‘control and curb’ your sexual desires and thus, in the process, to ‘please thy God’.

Are you denying my claims that clergies turn out to be rapists and paedophiles much too often? Well... look at this, if you like. Mojoey, there, has taken up an effort of compiling the news (of abuse, mistrust and hypocrisy by the said ‘men of God’) that he has collected in the month of September alone. The number is 37. That’s more than 1 A DAY! And it’s not limited to those 37 instances- there’s definitely more.... much much more.
... and that is what got me thinking.
Why is it that so many clergymen seem to have a double life and standard? Does it stem from the impossible sexual suppressions that most religions promote or is it something else?
Did you answer ‘something else?’
Then, next question- WHAT IS THAT SOMETHING ELSE?

Heaven forbid a priest can't love Jesus AND a lady's vagina. If the Church just allowed them to marry - as they do in other religions - maybe there would indeed be less perversion. Don't priests need the love of a partner too, be they a wife or a lover or a same sex partner? It must get lonely under those robes.

I don't think its unnatural but wrong yes. Maybe in 100yrs of more "rationality" where a child consents sex with an adult pedophilia will be viewed very differently. Just like homosexuality.
Like homosexuality, pedophilia has an ancient history too. Version of it was legal in Ancient Rome. Yes, that bastion of Modern Rationality.

If you read this post a little 'objectively'- raping children (and adults) is what it has been condemning.
In the direction of your argument- you'd probably even say that given the number of 'serial killers' and 'murderers' in this world- it is not 'unnatural' to kill people either. True, it probably isn't. But who's having an argument on THAT?
What is natural for you- may not be so much so for me. This thing can be relative. But paedophilia is wrong, and there is no question about it.
And those who are in charge of 'upholding' religion, any religion, cannot just get away with something that is so heinously wrong.
